BATTISTINI, Osvaldo R.. What’s New and Old in Modern Labor Sub-Contracting. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2018, vol.33, n.93, pp.281-318. ISSN 2007-8358.
Today, subcontracting is one of the main ways that capitalist companies have for reorganizing production, dividing the work force, and reducing costs derived from the permanent hiring of part of its work force. Its use takes different forms and, in some cases, combines with increasingly precarious jobs. This article seeks historic precedents for this way of organizing production and, based on the Argentinean case, analyzes the different ways it is done and describes its main characteristics, as well as union responses and the consequences for workers.
