This article delves into the organizational conditions that favor or inhibit the exercise of the educational model in a recently created university. Since the model's trademark is an inter-disciplinary approach, the author analyzes the dilemmas and tensions generated in the social interaction created by interdivisional work, the forms the collegiate exercise takes on among the academics, and certain institutional behavioral patterns that denote the complex, incipient processes for making the Autonomous Metropolitan University (UAM) Lerma campus educational model operational.
