Abstract

CALONGE REILLO, Fernando. Capitalist Mobilities and Subordinate Identities: You Move Because They Move You. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2014, vol.29, n.83, pp.129-164. ISSN 2007-8358.

The aim of this article is to show how mobilizations driven by capitalism, mainly in its neoliberal phase, impact the formation of subordinate identities. To do this, the author analyzes this mode of production as a force that mobilizes land, commodities, individuals, and capital, and describes the mobilities that it imposes on the upper and working classes. His intent is to examine how the way in which these processes are experienced generates mobile identities, some hegemonic and others subordinate, thereby establishing the basis for reproducing the neoliberal capitalist order.

Keywords : capitalism; neoliberalism; mobile identities; subordinate identities; mobility.
