Resumen
GUERRA MANZO, Enrique. Norbert Elias's Sociology of Knowledge. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2012, vol.27, n.77, pp.35-69. ISSN 2007-8358.
Elias rejects outright the traditional philosophy that posits the isolated individual (homo clausus) as the subject of knowledge. He proposes using as a starting point the image of homines aperti (figurations) and seeing as the subject of knowledge the generations of humans who have followed one another in the construction of knowledge and wisdom in a process that has no beginning. Only in this way can a post-philosophical sociology of knowledge be established surpassing the ontological dualism of a world divided between "subject" and "object," which leads to serious errors and blocks access to a knowledge that is closer to reality.
