PARIS POMBO, María Dolores. Arms Manufacturing for a Symbolic Revolution: Pierre Bourdieu and the Sociology of Domination. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2012, vol.27, n.77, pp.7-34. ISSN 2007-8358.
This article analyzes certain political sociological elements in the work of Bourdieu and their relationship to his activism in anti-neoliberal movements. Bourdieu demonstrated that, far from being opposed to one another, a critical perspective in the social sciences and left political action fulfill the same aim: transforming the social reality to make it more equitable, deconstructing the power structures. However, it was not until the 1990s strike movements when Bourdieu clearly played the role of an organic intellectual and produced a more ordered version of his thinking to make it more accessible and contribute to mobilizing the dominated.
