Resumen
MOEBUS RETONDAR, Anderson. Hibridismo cultural: ¿clave analítica para la comprensión de la modernización latinoamericana? La perspectiva de Néstor García Canclini. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2008, vol.23, n.67, pp.33-49. ISSN 2007-8358.
The objective of this article is to establish a theoretical discussion about the limits and scope of the use of the concept "cultural hybridism," developed by Nestor García Canclini as an instrument for explaining Latin American modernization processes in their contemporary context. Essentially, the idea is to discuss to what extent the concept can be understood as an effective analytical key for mediating between the classical interpretations of Latin American modernization that postulate, on the one hand, that it is a failed imitation of the European project of modernity, and, on the other, that it is a typical process of "cultural mix" that would represent a kind of "lasting post-modernity" that would mark Latin America’s socio-cultural dynamic.
