Abstract

SUAREZ, Hugo José. Producción y transformación cultural. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2006, vol.21, n.61, pp.235-256. ISSN 2007-8358.

This article focuses on the concept of “cultural institution” as a structure of perception and action that makes it possible for social agents to have a coherent vision of the world and elementary registers of perception. To understand this, it starts from the idea of the genesis of the systems of the senses, using fundamental readings in Freud, Weber and Durkheim in order to reflect about the possibilities of the functioning of cognitive structures, their latent instability and their capabilities for transformation, their crisis and the reconstitution of a balance that seals a new symbolic transaction.

Keywords : sociology of culture; cultural institutions; symbolic transformation; cognitive structures.
