Resumen
VERA, Héctor. Cuándo, dónde y cuánto. El tiempo, el espacio y las medidas como problemas sociológicos. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2005, vol.20, n.58, pp.105-129. ISSN 2007-8358.
This article argues that time, space and systems of measurement can be the object of sociological research. In that sense, it is based on the premise that there is a strong social influence on the way in which people organize time and space and in how they measure things. It delves into two concrete cases to illustrate this idea: first, the historic development of the Western calendar; second, the origin of the decimal metric system of weights and measures, created during the French Revolution.
