The composite image prepared from three Landsat ETM+ images and their digital processing through a non-supervised classification algorithm, made it possible to obtain the soil cover cartography of the Tabasco Mountain Region, which resulted highly heterogeneous and fragmented. The complex landscape caused the method used to be insufficient. Nevertheless, the classification presented here is useful considering a precision greater than 70% in the majority of the cover classes in the generated cartography.
