We review various aspects of iron: recent epidemiological data, physiological data such as factors regulating its absorption, increased or decrease its bioavailability, highlighting the importance and reason for an adequate supplementation; the choice of appropriate food sources; evaluation in comparative tables of the iron content and bioavailability percentage of different foods and train milk formulas.
