BARROS, José D’Assunção. Interconnected Stories, Crossed Histories, Transnational Approaches and other Histories. Secuencia [online]. 2019, n.103, e1528. Epub 01-Ene-2019. ISSN 2395-8464. https://doi.org/10.18234/secuencia.v0i103.1528.
The purpose of this article is to discuss the most recent historiographical modalities which, together with Comparative History, defend the aim of dealing with “relational procedures” -understood here as those that go beyond traditional historiographical approaches and use the historiographical methods of comparison, crossing, interconnection and transcending national and civilizational borders in the choice of historiographical objects. Transnational history, interconnected histories, and crossed histories, among others, are presented in their singularities, through the perspectives of the authors who use these designations for their own works. The article considers that relational procedures can refer to the definition of the research object, narrative modes, analytical procedures, the systematic crossing of sources and other aspects of the historiographical operation. In order to work on the historiographical discussion, we compared representative texts of these trends, used as sources for historiographical analysis.
