Canary Island entrepreneurs contributed to the construction of the Cuban business fabric through the creation and development of a broad range of companies: small tobacco farmers, international traders, titans of the financial sector and sugar mill owners. Others ended up specializing in small urban service businesses such as milk distribution. This article begins by analyzing Canary Island migration in the context of Atlantic migratory chains. It subsequently presents the main aspects of business development involving Canary Island migrants in Cuba.
