HERRERA GONZALEZ, Patricio. The Confederation of Latin American Workers: A History to Resignify (1938-1963). Secuencia [online]. 2013, n.86, pp.195-218. ISSN 2395-8464.
The Confederation of Latin American Workers (CTAL) was the most numerous trade union organization with the greatest number of continental and international links ever recorded. However, historical research is as yet unaware of its profound significance for Latin American sociopolitical history of the 20th century. This article discusses the stereotypes, prejudices and oversights put forward by workers' historiography on the trade union and socio-political performance of CTAL. It concludes that there is a need to consider new aspects to interpret its historical trajectory.
