The purpose of this study is to find out about the everyday evaluation of a typical, regional raw material (cotton) in a marginalized area -el Gran Chaco- where there is a lack of a Consolidated local bourgeoisie and heavy dependence on central power when policies must be implemented and an awareness that in National Territories, the presence of the native population and the reduction of citizenship partly explain this characteristic, which is not always associated with isolation. The purpose of this study is to describe these conditions and their effects through certain specialized journals (Oro Blanco, La Gaceta Algodonera and La Gaceta Textil) which are tailored to corporate interests, with their customary informacional and evaluation language. It also seeks to assess the discourse they propose, the omission of the most critical profiles of reality and the messages they transmit, beyond their technical profile and the consultancy services they provide for cotton producers.
