The interview with Eugenia Meyer involves the founding of Secuencia in 1985, the importance of the journal, its name, objectives, topics, contents, initial problems and the editors' interest in disseminating documents and new sources for history. The specialist criticizes the National System of Researchers and the rules governing the list of CONACYT journals. In her view, the evaluation criteria are mistaken since they affect historiographie practices by questioning the authority of articles that are not published in English, the language regarded as being the most authoritative one for transmitting historical knowledge.
