This article is a descriptive, historical study that attempts to answer the question of what the origin and subsequent development of broadcasting in Santa María was, showing the cultural aspects and social dynamics of broadcasting stations.

This process took place between 1930 and 1940 and the information to analyze it was compiled mainly on the basis of the oral tradition, the newspaper El Estado, Gaceta Departamental and the documentation held in the Archivo Histórico del Magdalena Grande.
