This article analyzes the role of war in the process of Argentinas constitutional organization and its influences on the shaping of Republican and national political discourse. It specifically studies the justifications given for war as a founding element of the nation and its constitutional organization in 1852 as well as the extent to which the discursive formulae that legitimized the armed way shaped Republican and National political discourse.
