Under the editorial direction of the exile Juan Rejano (1948-1956), the Revista Mexicana de Cultura represented one of the most influential spaces of cultural media in the Spanish language. This study of his work, based on critical reviews, reveals the interaction between exiles and locals, and how the two formulated an editorial direction that contributed to the construction of the Mexican canon. This critical reciprocity emphasizes the validity of including exiled authors in the history of Mexican literature.
