Resumen
TORRES PUGA, Gabriel. Suspicious individuals: the microhistory of A CREOLE ecclesiast and a French surgeon in Mexico City. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2014, vol.35, n.139, pp.27-68. ISSN 2448-7554.
This article presents readers with fragments and representations of the lives of two quite dissimilar subjects who shared a common denominator: the fact that both were considered participants in the revolutionary conspiracy of 1794. Based on the dossiers compiled by the Sala del Crimen and the Tribunal of the Inquisition, an autobiography, and a series of letters, the author elaborates a microhistorical analysis accompanied by a historiographic reflection on the possibilities and limits of reconstructing biographical profiles from judicial documentation.
