RAMIREZ SEVILLA, Rosaura y LEDESMA-MATEOS, Ismael. The Commission Scientifique du Mexique: A Truncated Colonialist Venture. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2013, vol.34, n.134, pp.303-347. ISSN 2448-7554.
This work presents a study of the Commission Scientifique du Mexique, which was established in Paris in February 1864 on Napoleon III's orders and placed under the direction of Víctor Duruy, the Empire's Minister of Public Instruction. The importance of this research lies in its presentation of the structure and organization of the commission, biographies of its members, and a profile of the instructions it elaborated for the travelers who joined this exploratory venture. The study examines the role of strategic alliances in the development of knowledge.
