MARTINEZ DE LA ROSA, Alejandro. The Fervid Women of the Fandango: Temptations from Hell. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2013, vol.34, n.133, pp.117-139. ISSN 2448-7554.
Towards the end of the Colony, the so-called Casas del Fandango (roughly, "Party Houses"), places where men and women got together to socialize, were censured. This study examines a series of allegations related to those spaces to analyze the contexts and points of view of the repressing institutions, together with accounts of rural fandangos from the 19th century to discern how they were described by chroniclers and determine the roles performed by men and women.
