Abstract

KAUFFER MICHEL, Edith F.. Hydropolitics in Candelaria: From the Analysis of the Basin to the Study of Interactions between River and Riverside Society. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2010, vol.31, n.124, pp.187-226. ISSN 2448-7554.

This article analyzes the Candelaria River basin in ligth of the concept of hydropolitics. The first part focuses on the hydrographic basin of the Candelaria River, examinig two dimensions of this concept and concluding with a discussion of thew irrelevance of this basin with respect to issue. The second section evokes the interactions between the river and riverside society during three historical moments in relation to a dimension of the concept of hydropolitics that increases the complexity of the analysis.
