RAMIREZ BARRETO, Ana Cristina. Eréndiras of Legend and Flesh-and-Blood. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2010, vol.31, n.123, pp.85-120. ISSN 2448-7554.
Eréndira is the name of a legendary indigenous P'urhépecha woman who fought the Spanish conquest after learning to ride on horseback, but as well it is a woman's name that is quite common in Michoacán (Mexico). This study brings to light the legend and its elements, reflects upon the importance of this name and its association with the apogee of Cardenismos, and presents the results of the author's search for flesh-and-blood Eréndiras.
