ROBLES HERNANDEZ, Juan Pablo e PEREZ MORENO, Luis. Population Density of Plant Parasitic Nematodes in Soil from Irapuato, Guanajuato. Rev. mex. fitopatol [online]. 2011, vol.29, n.2, pp.172-174. ISSN 2007-8080.
This report describes the plant parasitic nematode population density in soil from the experimental field 'The Copal', at the Life Sciences Division, Irapuato-Salamanca Campus, University of Guanajuato. Soil samples from corn, sorghum, garlic, alfalfa, strawberry and wheat crops were analyzed. Eighty samples were collected using the approved sampling extensive areas method for nematodes, and the extraction protocol was the sieving-centrifugal flotation in sugar. The greatest nematode average population per 100 g of soil (ẋ) and their coefficient of variation (CV) were: Helicotylenchus spp. (ẋ=19, CV=71.8%), Pratylenchus spp. (ẋ=15, CV=57.7%), and Tylenchus spp. (ẋ=13, CV=64.9%). Similarly, Pratylenchus thornei was characterized in soil from wheat field.
