The technique of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis was used to identify whitefly biotypes present in tomato fields on the Baja California, Mexico. We determined that 75% B. tabaci biotype B, 12% biotype A, 10% Trialeurodes vaporariorum, and 3% indeterminate species. According to PCR analysis Tomato chino La Paz virus was detected in 95% of the population and the virus was present in almost all the geographical areas.
