Considered as an experimental novel, Los girasoles en el invierno (1970) marks the evolution of the literary program Albalucía Ángel followed. This article examines the urban experience as represented in Los girasoles en el invierno, seen as vital knowledge of the city. Through memory, reverie, writing and fiction, the novel breaks with the theme of the city as a purely plastic setting. Thus, the city is constructed as a space that determines the sensitivity of the subject that inhabits it.
