Abstract

ALEJANDREZ MUNOZ, Pedro Hugo. The Map of the Libertine Body. Acta poét [online]. 2018, vol.39, n.1, pp.135-151. ISSN 2448-735X.  https://doi.org/10.19130/iifl.ap.2018.1.818.

In this essay, the author explores the French literary Libertinage in order to observe how the human body is represented under the cartesian dualism between mind and body. Through some examples, taken mainly from a 18th century poem, we will observe how the body acquires several meanings that fortify a poetic expression that has been neglected by literary criticism.

Keywords : libertinage; Théophile de Viau; body, Descartes; poetry.
