MAUAD, Ana Maria. Contemporary Images: Photographic Experience and Memory in the 20th century. Acta poét [online]. 2013, vol.34, n.1, pp.39-60. ISSN 2448-735X.
This study deals with the relationship between art, memory and photography operated by the concepts of community (people, images, etc.), trajectories (collectives and individuals) and projects (field of possibilities). The analysis is based on three interviews with contemporary photographers published in the series Contacts (Klein, 2007). The three photographers elected for this reflection represent three different tendencies in contemporary photography: Marc Riboud (photojournalism); Sarah Moon (new contemporary photography) and Christian Boltanski (conceptual photography). Methodologically speaking, the concept of intertextuality is central for this analysis as it is the means by which the verbal and visual narratives are related in terms of recollection. In this process, despite the autonomy of each narrative -textual, oral, photographic and videographic-, they interact dialogically in the context of historical analysis.
