Abstract

TROCA PEREIRA, Reina Marisol. Impious delicacy: The origins of human taint. Nova tellus [online]. 2011, vol.29, n.1, pp.101-127. ISSN 0185-3058.

This article relates the commencement of the original sin of the human race with diet containing the ingestion of meat. This is not a new idea at all, since several philosophies from the classical Antiquity defended vegetarianism. The fact is that meat ingestion is associated to savagery, animal and barbaric tastes which restrain mankind's progress.

Keywords : Food; meat; vegetarianism; rise and fall.
