Abstract

UNCETA GOMEZ, Luis. Breve historia del género cosmogónico: de la Antigüedad al relato de ficción. Nova tellus [online]. 2009, vol.27, n.1, pp.207-227. ISSN 0185-3058.

The mythological tale about the origin of the universe has played an exceptionally significant role in ancient cultures, to the point of being considered a literary genre in its own right. However, the continuous changes in epistemological paradigms have gradually pushed it aside, and it won't be until the contemporary age that the cosmological tale recovers its poetical strength, becoming an integral element in new genres, such as the fantastic and science fiction. The aim of this paper is to sketch a short history of the avatars of the cosmological genre through the ages.

Keywords : classical tradition; cosmogonies; fantastic literature; mythical tale; science fiction.
