Abstract

JUFRESA, Montserrat  and  FAU, María Teresa. La relación entre poeta y tirano en la Grecia arcaica. Nova tellus [online]. 2007, vol.25, n.1, pp.93-116. ISSN 0185-3058.  https://doi.org/10.19130/iifl.nt.2007.25.1.214.

This article analizes the complex and ambiguous relation between the poet and the tyrant throughout the Archaic Greece. The tyrant is praised in some occasions by poets but mostly he is criticized by them, because he has become an odious character who does not deserves to live in the bosom of a civic community; the tyrant exercises, however, a fascination which can never be easily overcome.

Keywords : Grecia arcaica; lírica; poeta; tirano.
