Education constitutes the central point of the transformation of a society, betting on an educational proposal that questions hegemonic knowledge and science as a positivist construction, allows to train professionals and human beings with a broader vision of the world, which manage to articulate cultural diversity what characterize it. For this reason, this article analyzes higher education in Latin America. From a critical intercultural view, the different educational theoretical currents, the situation of Latin America as a highly diverse and at the same time unequal region are traversed, and finally reflections necessary to question and transform the educational system are presented.
