The following article is the result of a research associated with the analysis of learning acquired by a group of students who work at the same time, considering the relationships that they perceive by themselves between the two spheres in which they carry out their activities. The purpose is to find out what kind of learning they acquire at work and school environments by analyzing which are more significant for professional performance and identifying correspondences, differences and frictions between them, to evaluate the possible development of competencies, understood from the perspective of the integration of diverse knowledge in origin and nature. The research problem is in the analysis of the interactions established between school and work, from the situational perspective of this group of working students from an Instituto Tecnológico de Educación Superior in Mexico.
