Resumen

URIBE MENDOZA, Blanca Irais. The incorporation of veterinary education to the National University and its ties to revolutionary regimes (1929-1934). Perfiles educativos [online]. 2018, vol.40, n.162, pp.22-36. ISSN 0185-2698.

The article describes the process by which veterinary education was incor porated into the Universidad Nacional de México in 1929. It also recounts the trajectory of veterinary medicine in the years following its integration into the University, and the collaborative ties formed between the veterinary community and revolutionary regimes between 1929 and 1934. Particular attention is paid to the institutions from which veterinarians engaged in a process of scientific, educational and professional outreach to rural commu nities in the fields of livestock husbandry and exploitation of livestock re sources. The methodological guidelines followed for this work are grounded in the social history of education, a reference framework that shows how higher education was used as a tool by revolutionary regimes to launch agri cultural development in Mexico.
