RAMIREZ DIAZ, Mario H.; MENDEZ-SANCHEZ, Arturo F.; PEREZ-TREJO, Leonor  e  OLVERA-ALDANA, Miguel. Specific competencies considered the most used and the most important in Physics programs in Mexico. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2016, vol.38, n.152, pp.68-87. ISSN 0185-2698.

Different proposals exist for the design and development of generic, labor and specific competencies at different levels of education and according to different educational models. The Tuning Latin America Project formulated a particularly interesting proposal, which includes physics programs in its proposed specific competencies. The objective of this study is to use the Tuning methodology to identify competencies considered to be the most used and most important to physics programs in Mexico. To this end, the original study sample was enlarged significantly from 16 to 112 subjects. The authors analyze the relation between importance and use in quadrants that reflect competencies considered to be more and less important, and more and less used, among two agents: academics and students. Finally, recommendations are made in regards to the analysis of competencies and the quadrant used for their categorization.
