QUIROZ, Elena; BOLANOS, Italivi y CASTELLANOS, Elizabet. Institutional organization in selfassessment in order to obtain accreditation at the UABJO: The case of Medicine. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2012, vol.34, n.137, pp.68-78. ISSN 0185-2698.
This article focuses on the institutional organization of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the Universidad Autónoma Benito Juárez de Oaxaca (UABJO) during the self assessment process for accreditation of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree. The accreditation is part of the assessment policies in the Higher Education Institutions in order to guarantee the quality of education. This analysis is carried out from the qualitative angle of the organization theory and Sociology and shows that during the first decade of the 21st Century the main characters in the leadership of the accreditation process are not the HEI professors but external work teams or consultants.
