HAMUI SUTTON, Mery. Organizational structure and career experience of a research team about international relations. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2011, vol.33, n.133, pp.51-67. ISSN 0185-2698.
In this article, the author carries out a theoretical-empirical comparison about the way in which the organization structure and the logics of change are brought about in a succesful research team in social sciences (international relations) in the public sector by analyzing its career experience. The measurements of the organizational structures were: a) functional stabilization, which includes its composition, orientation, regulating action, differentiation and leaderschip; and b) emotional stabilization, which considers the status of membership. About this particular aspect the author shows how the member of the team uses to estimate the costs and benefits to be member of the group for the production of knowledge, to build up an ethos, roles, identities and power in the interaction logics. The author also compares the typical model of career of the research teams with this particular team in three specific moments: forming, transition to consolidation and consolidation.
