This study approaches a complex, up-to-date and polemic set of problems which has a direct reflection on the pedagogical dimensión of the university. Consequently, it affects the quality of the university teaching. Firstly the author analyzes in a deep manner and according to several authors, the word post-modernity which is comprehensive and contradictory. Based on the literature and on different areas of human knowledge he characterizes the post-modern mega paradigm. In the second part, he analyzes the university as the main manager of science and due to the changes which happened in the last decades, this university is without a paradigm which anchors it. As it is very questioned, yet recognizing that there are exceptions, it cannot attend the need of a each time more competitive society. In the end, as an example of reflection, he brings some considerations consequential to the study.
