This study offers a schematic interpretation, where some of the principal events in the history of Psychologyof education in Mexico are analysed. The scheme incorporates three periods in the development of the discipline: a) Initial phase (from the beginning of the 20th century to the 1950s) b) Phase of consolidation (1960s to 1980s) and c) Contemporary phase (from the 1990s to the present day). In each of these periods, some of the more relevant ilestones are highlighted. The characteristics and approaches of Psychology of Education (PE), both as an academic and professional discipline, are also included. Similarly, certain remarks related to the repercussions of these in the training of psychological educationists in Mexico have been included.
