FOLLARI, Roberto. Is there some place for subjectivity at school?. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2007, vol.29, n.115, pp.7-20. ISSN 0185-2698.
This article proposes that it is not only about thinking subjectively about subjectivity, but also to grasp it in its objective and causal conditions. Those are tightly related to the unconscious and social situations. The first statement refers to an inevitable tenseness, since the function of education is that the natural impulses can be directed to socially acceptable attitudes, but at the same time we must admit that subjectivity only emerges where there is a place in which adaptation to the external social demand can be broken. So the point is to provide at school a space for the subjective speech, far beyond the conventional cultural demands. Therefore it is necessary to break with the tendency of bureaucracy to cancel subjectivity as something completely isolated from the quantitative homogeneity.
