Abstract

This article is divided into two parts: the first one deals with the influence exercised by internacional organizations on the national educational policies in Mexico during the last decade within the globalization processes and the so-called “higher education modernization” as well; in order to depict the context of higher education in Mexico, the author also offers an analysis of the career supply in the country, the enrollment and the educational supply; the second part tackles in general terms the origins and the development of the curriculum field in Mexico, the curriculum changes that have been implemented during the nineties, the demands of the labor market for the training of professionals and the studies about graduated students as a criterion for the qualitative assessment of the education that has been received.
