Abstract

AGUIRRE LORA, María Esther. La alquimia de la educación: Ensayos de interpretación. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2003, vol.25, n.102, pp.54-72. ISSN 0185-2698.

After specifying some of the different meaning given to the term "Utopia" since its origins, the author analyzes the main axes shared by the greatest emancipating stories of the 19th Century in order to show how, at the beginning of the 21st, the neo-liberal policies influence academic life. The Utopian horizon she deals with has to do with the educator's possibilities, both as a collective actor and a historical subject, to move the feasible transformation towards life quality for the groups with whom they share a social transformation project.

Keywords : Utopian genre; Education; High modernity; Globalization; Historical subject.
