In this paper, the author tackles with the different modalities of academic career construction and the regulations that rule the good working of this field in three disciplines that present different structuring and tradition degrees in the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (National University of Rosario), Argentina: Physics, History and Communication Sciences. The work hypothesis is that a high structuring degree of the fields and of the academic tradition must be correlated with a completed development of the organization guidelines of the different courses and with the construction of consensus about the legitimization and consecration forms within the field. This can explain why in disciplines that are so different, such as Physics and History, the core of coincidences is more important than the differences. Quite the opposite, in areas that still have not been structured nor permeated by the effects of a sustained tradition, the lack of rules is more evident and becomes even more important in long-term economic crisis contexts.
