This work will show the general balance of the Mexico City Treasury between 1820 and 1835. Mexico City's income and expenses are extensively described, and the analysis shows that the City Council experienced a positive and stable financial balance between 1820 and the third quarter of 1827, fostered by the fiscal revenues collected via food supplied into the City and the government lease of markets and squares.
