Resumen
TSUKAMOTO, Kenichiro. Un estudio sobre la organización espacial del antiguo asentamiento maya El Resbalón, Quintana Roo. Estud. cult. maya [online]. 2005, vol.26, pp.41-66. ISSN 0185-2574.
This paper deals with the topographic analisis of settlement patterns through time at the Classic Maya site of El Resbalon, Quintana Roo. Results of archaeological operations conducted through three field seasons on 2001-2003, led the author to the understanding of a unified identity seen on site's urban planning. The paper proposes three different stages for architectural development and distribution of space. First one goes back to Middle Predassic and it's related to triadic temples and astronomical commemoration complexes; a second one was identified for the Classic splendor at the site, with characteristic multiroomed and vaulted elite buildings in strong resemblance to Calakmul, as showed by epigraphic evidence from three hieroglyphic stairways that show Calakmul's emblem glyph; a last stage for Early Postclassic had flat platforms. These were different adaptations to environment in community's evolution, and reflect a strong ideology with unified identity evident in the different ways of organization.
