ESCOBAR OHMSTEDE, Antonio e FAGOAGA HERNANDEZ, Ricardo A.. Los componentes socio-étnicos y sus espacios en las Huastecas a través de los censos parroquiales, 1770-1780. Estud. cult. maya [online]. 2004, vol.25, pp.219-256. ISSN 0185-2574.
This article analyzes the distribution of the population in the Huastecas in the second half of eighteenth century. Our knowledge of how the different parishes were conformed by distinct socio-ethnic groups and their distribution and composition in various localities ivillas, ports, towns, haciendas, ranchos and estancias) is still an agenda that should be defined. What we propose is the study of a religious source, the parish censuses of the 70's, which allow us to define a "photograph" or "Polaroid" of the different religious jurisdictions. In conjunction with civil jurisdictions (corregimientos and alcaldías mayores) is possible to understand how the territory was built up through the agency of people. This article will help to delineate the natural scenario and built environment that was modified by individuals.
