Resumen

DELGADILLO GALINDO, Sergio. 17th Century Peaceful Resistances in the Sierra de la Nueva Vizcaya. Estud. hist. novohisp [online]. 2022, n.66, pp.11-45.  Epub 06-Jun-2022. ISSN 2448-6922.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iih.24486922e.2022.66.76407.

This article shows a diverse range of unarmed actions carried out by groups of Acaxees, Xiximes, and Tepehuanes against the imposition of Western culture during the period of transition up to the seventeenth century. These acts had repercussions and significance not just to an administrative extent, in the colonial order, but to the ideological extent through the social aspect too. Due to the scarce sources on this subject at an early date, I had to appeal to the discourse analysis of power through hidden discourses. Three types of unarmed resistance are identified: the religious, the quotidian, and the resistance for survival.

Palabras llave : peaceful resistances; religious resistance; everyday resistance; survival; Acaxees; Xiximes; Tepehuanes.
