This paper seeks to discuss the use of legal mobilizations by organized groups to achieve their objectives, for which resources are seen as a fundamental factor to carry them out, sustain them and succeed. At the same time, this work addresses one of the most important problems in Latin America: the conflicts generated by mega-projects, specifically by the mega-mine industry. The central question was: How did the Frente Amplio Opositor a Minera San Xavier (FAO) maintain the use of legal mobilizations? To account for this, the mobilization process of this social movement is contextualized and analyzed throughout the text, with special emphasis on legal mobilizations.

Based on the analysis of primary and secondary information, the present paper argues that the FAO entered into legal mobilizations without the help of a solid support structure and that, instead, the movement was building its own support structure in which the role of lawyers was essential in a way that allowed for a process of embedded legal activity.
