Resumen

HERNANDEZ ARTEAGA, Laura. A Review of Latin American Political Order from the Perspective of Social Systems Theory. Rev. mex. cienc. polít. soc [online]. 2018, vol.63, n.232, pp.129-152. ISSN 0185-1918.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.2448492xe.2018.232.58452.

This article is part of a research project on the theory of social systems as a resource of observation of societies in the periphery of the modernity, especially in Mexico. The work is aimed at showing how this can be done by means of the analytical distinction center/periphery of the political order in Latin America. Thus, the processes of differentiation of the peripheral society are examined as the result of an entanglement between orders organizations and functional, where the State plays a central role in the communications of society. In orders such as this, structures and political institutions have developed, which are analyzed by means of the systemic dedifferentiation category. This approach has rarely been used by Mexican scholars.

Palabras llave : theory of society; center-periphery differentiation; dedifferentiation; peripheral political order.
