Abstract

GONNET, Juan Pablo. Durkheim, Luhmann and the Delimitation of the Problem of Social Order. Rev. mex. cienc. polít. soc [online]. 2015, vol.60, n.225, pp.285-309. ISSN 0185-1918.

In this article we propose that the sociological problem of social order is not necessary comparable to the problem of cohesion, control and/or integration. Reconstructing the proposals of Durkheim about anomie, and Luhmann´s concerning contingency, we argue that the concept of social order presents a higher level of generality, related to the recognition of an order of reality which is social in and of itself. In the context of this convergence, we consider that the specificity that sociology provides is not only present in the answers given to the problem of order, as it has often been assumed, but also in the conceptions of the problem itself. In this way, a conceptual clarification regarding the issue of social order in the sociological tradition is intended.

Keywords : anomie; conflict; contingency; deviation; social order; Luhmann; Durkheim.
